Nvidia revenue shows sequential growth

Graphics chip specialist Nvidia reported that revenue for the quarter ended April 26 was $664.2 million, an increase of 38 percent from the previous quarter but down 42 percent compared with the same period a year earlier.


Microchip's sales, profits fall

Microchip Technology Inc. said sales for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2009 were $173.3 million, down 9.8 percent sequentially from net sales of $192.2 million in the immediately preceding quarter, and down 33.5 percent from net sales of $260.4 million in the prior year's fourth quarter.


IR posts $82 million loss on declining sales

McObject brengt zijn in-geheugen database ExtremeDB uit voor Wind Rivers VXWorks 653-besturingssysteem. Dit RTos is gericht op Arinc 653 Integrated Modular Avionics-systemen (IMA). De database is zodoende bruikbaar in missiekritieke lucht- en ruimtevaartsystemen. Doordat de database in geheugen blijft, zijn er geen schokgevoelige disks nodig. Met ExtremeDB kunnen ontwikkelaars transacties prioriteren, wat het determinisme van het systeem ten goede komt. Citrix levert applicaties via 'appstore' Dazzle

Software- en virtualisatieleverancier Citrix integreert de komende zes maanden al zijn online technologie in de zakelijke software. Het bedrijf heeft daarvoor het applicatiewinkeltje Dazzle gebouwd. Niet iedereen vindt die appstore echter even relevant. Dat blijkt op de gebruikersconferentie Synergy die Citrix in Las Vegas organiseerde. Daar ontvouwde de leverancier zijn nieuwe visie voor applicatielevering.

In-flight broadband set to soar with 800 planes

Brunel ICT krijgt nieuwe directeur

De afdeling ict van detacheringbureau Brunel krijgt een nieuwe directeur. Arjan de Vries, nu al werkzaam als directeur van de afdeling engineering, neemt de directeursfunctie van het ict-segment erbij. De huidige ict-directeur Gerjan Mazenier vertrekt naar de Duitse tak van Brunel, om daar leiding te gaan geven. De wijzigingen in de top van detacheerder Brunel zijn geen gevolg van een reorganisatie.

Ict-dienstverlener Pecoma is vanaf 1 mei gevestigd in een nieuw pand in Amsterdam Zuidoost. 'We wilden een pand dat dichter bij onze klanten lag dan het vorige pand', vertelt Pecoma-directeur Simon de Koning. 'We hebben veel klanten in de financiële sector en zitten op loopafstand van het klanten als ABN Amro.' Het nieuwe pand heeft kleine treincoupés en een rode glijbaan in de kantine. Begin dit jaar ontsloeg de dienstverlener zeventig mensen.

ST in licensing deal for FET's battery technology
